Summer camps
Summer camp registration opens online April 12, 2024 at 7:00am
We offer a wide variety of camps for children ages 3-14 years old at Esquimalt Recreation Centre & Archie Browning Sport Centre. Camps generally run Mon-Fri from 9:00am-4:00pm. For parents looking to drop-off early/pick-up late, please register in our Extended Care Program (offered for Summer Playgrounds & Specialty Camps).
Steps to Register:
- Login or create an Esquimalt Recreation online account, and ensure all information is up to date. For example: children(s) information is added and correct, valid credit card information is ready for payments.
Complete the 2024 Camp Emergency Form before April 12th. Completion of this form is required for each child before they can be registered in camps each year.

Support & Inclusion:
If your child requires extra support or qualifies for funding through Supported Child Development or Aboriginal Supported Child Development, please fill out the Child Support/Inclusion Needs Intake Form below and email the OSC Supervisor at [email protected] prior to registration.

Policies & additional registration information:
- Withdrawal policy: 7 days notice is required to withdraw from any summer camp programs in order to receive a refund, no exceptions.
- Registration deadline for extended care. Extended care registration closes 1-week before camp begins, NO EXCEPTIONS. This allows our team to ensure appropriate staffing is available to accommodate all participants.
- Applying Affordable Child Care Benefit ACCB (Licensed camps only, Voyageurs/Buccaneers) - It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to apply for subsidy. Please apply early as subsidy can take up to 3 months to be processed through the Ministry of Children & Family Development. Subsidy is available for licensed camps only. Please note:
- Parents/guardians are required to pay for camp(s) until Esquimalt Recreation has received receipt and value of the subsidy approval.

Payment information
Online registration
Payment is required in full at time of registration. Accepted payment methods: credit on account or credit card. For assistance navigating your online account, please see here.
In-person or phone registration
All camp registrations are processed through the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, located at 527 Fraser Street or 250-412-8500. Accepted payment methods: debit, credit card, credit on account. A payment plan may be arranged for in person registrations only.

Payment for all camps starting in July must be made during initial registration.
Affordable Childcare Benefit (ACCB)
* Applies to Licensed OSC camps only*
Eligible families can apply for the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB) to reduce their licensed OSC Camp fees. To apply, request an ACCB Form by emailing [email protected] Parents are then responsible for submitting the form to ACCB.
Parents/guardians are required to pay for camp(s) for the full amount until Esquimalt Recreation has received receipt and value of the ACCB approval. ACCB generally does not cover the full amount of parent fees. Please apply early as ACCB can take up to 3 months to be processed through the Ministry of Children & Family Development.
