Collaborative and Courageous Teams
As we learn and our systems evolve, our work supporting all learners shifts. To enjoy the journey, we learn to ride the waves of change in new and different ways. Coming together to collaboratively plan, co-teach, and learn together has been identified as key to working smarter not harder. Intentional collaborative processes absolutely involve courage, vulnerability, and thoughtful planning.

Cooperative teaming has the power to contribute to more effective and fulfilling professional experiences, boost student performance, surface innovative practices, and give teachers more time for their choosing. It all comes back to #bettertogether!

1 question to ponder
Think of a time - either on a team or individually - when you felt motivated by seeing success from your efforts. How did that drive you to improve and continue your work? How did it feel?

Learning Support Timeline

LST Timeline - October is typically a month filled with collaborative planning and considering IEPs. As always, timelines are suggested approximations intended to be fluid and flexible, recognizing caseloads vary, experience in the role can be a factor, and you may be in the midst of new learning (e.g. CB-IEPs). Being responsive to and compassionate with ourselves, our colleagues and our students is the most important item on our agenda.

Our CB IEP implementation goal across the district is that all designated students will have CB IEPs by October 2025. Please consider your context and consult with your school-based team about how you will achieve this within your school (ie. starting with all Grade 9s and then adding a new grade level each year, or starting with new designations, or starting with a few students this year and continuing to increase each year).

The supports we have available for CB IEPs this fall are:

CB IEP Fall Series ( videos, slide decks, related resources can be found in related folders)

SD 61 CB IEP Website
